Cle Elum Dam Fish Passage Facility Bridge and Access Road Improvements

Location:Cle Elum, WA
Project Dates:2015 - 2016
Owner:Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region
Status:Complete
Project Details:

This project consisted of more than ten (10) acres of forest clearing and grubbing to make way for grading and constructing a 3,400 linear foot access road with 155,000 CY of excavation and 96,000 CY of embankment as well as quarry spalls and geotextile lined ditches.   The access road spanned an existing spillway that required the construction and use of a 140 foot long temporary bridge to move excavated material from one side of the spillway to the other.  A permanent bridge was constructed over the existing spillway consisting of six (6) drilled shafts, each 42 inch diameter and 46 feet deep,  five (5) each 125 foot long precast bulb-t girders, and approximately 350 CY of Cast-In-Place concrete abutments, diaphragms, bridge deck and barrier.
